We collect only what we need to make and mail your letters. We never sell or rent it.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and, if a box ships to you, your mailing address.
- For each child: first name, age if you give it, and mailing address.
- The gift details you write: who it's from, your note, and the dates you choose.
- Your order and billing history. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see your full card number.
Children's information
A parent, grandparent or other adult gives us a child's details when they place an order. We don't collect information from children, and children don't have accounts.
How we use it
- To personalize, pack and mail each box and letter.
- To email you about your order: confirmations, shipping and anything that needs your attention.
- To take payment and manage your subscription.
- To answer you when you write to us.
We never send marketing to children or use a child's details for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the services that help us run Letters About God, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe, to take payments.
- Our email provider, to send you messages about your order.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its data.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), to measure our ads. See below.
- The postal service, which sees the name and address on each envelope.
We'll also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and ads
A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in. While you fill in an order, your progress is saved in your own browser so you don't lose it; it's cleared once you finish.
We also use site analytics to see which pages help people, and the Meta Pixel to learn whether our Facebook and Instagram ads work. These record things like the pages you visit and whether you place an order, and Meta may use that to show our ads to you or to people like you. They never receive a child's name, address or the note you write.
To limit this, change your Facebook ad settings, block third-party cookies in your browser, or email us and we'll stop using your information for ads.
Keeping and deleting it
We keep your information while you have an account so we can mail letters and look after your order. To have it deleted, use "Request account deletion" on your account page or email harrison@lettersaboutgod.com. We may keep payment records for as long as tax law requires.
You can also ask to see or correct anything we hold about you or your children.
Changes and questions
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email you first. Questions? Write to harrison@lettersaboutgod.com.
